U.S. President Biden has determined climate protection as a core issue for his administration, and has raised hopes for a new momentum in international climate politics. In December, the European Commission picked up on this optimism by proposing a comprehensive transatlantic green agenda to coordinate EU-U.S. positions on climate change. A close partnership between the European Union and the United States is key for successful global climate politics and can also be a driver for economic growth on both sides of the Atlantic.
We will take a closer look at the most pressing questions: How can the EU and the U.S. set a new global benchmark on climate action? How can we ensure that innovation and Research & Development is at the center of the new transatlantic green agenda?
