Thursday, January 19, 2023
06.00 pm - 07.00 pm

Virtual Discussion

In his new book, “The Age of Resilience – Reimagining Existence on a Rewilding Earth”, Jeremy Rifkin, one of the most renowned social visionaries, provides the overarching narrative for reorienting human action on an increasingly unpredictable planet.

The speakers are:

  • Jeremy Rifkin, President, The Foundation on Economic Trends
  • Sigmar Gabriel, Former Federal Foreign Minister; Former Vice-Chancellor; Chairman, Atlantik-Brücke
  • Moderator: Ines Pohl, Washington Bureau Chief, Deutsche Welle

For a long time, people believed they could conquer nature, but now they have come to realize that the forces of nature are far more powerful. To counter current global developments such as global warming or pandemics, Jeremy Rifkin is convinced that humanity needs to rethink its understanding of the world, its way of doing business, its political order, and its relationship to the planet: the Age of Progress is coming to an end, while a powerful new narrative, the Age of Resilience, is rising.

This event is held in cooperation with Campus Verlag.
