Join us for an evening discussion with Dr. Michael O’Hanlon from the Brookings Institution, who will offer an analysis of what the future of NATO and the European Security Order might look like and point to potential next steps for the transatlantic alliance. Has NATO expansion gone far enough? Does Europe need a new security architecture, or can the alliance meet today’s security needs while maintaining the fundamental principle of Article 5?
Michael O’Hanlon is a senior fellow in Foreign Policy at the Brookings Institution, where he specializes in U.S. defense strategy, the use of military force, and American national security policy. O’Hanlon’s latest book is “The Future of Land Warfare” (Brookings, 2015). He is an adjunct professor at Columbia, Princeton, and Syracuse universities and University of Denver. He is also a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies. O’Hanlon was a member of the external advisory board at the Central Intelligence Agency from 2011 to 2012.
