Teachers from the US often lack knowledge about Germany. Atlantik-Brücke steps in to help.
German-American relations thrive not only on strategic political deliberations, but also on cultural and emotional connections. Laying a foundation for this makes most sense when done early, during school years. Many American teachers who teach 20th century German history have never been to Germany and convey an outdated or incomplete picture to their students. In order to give them an accurate impression of modern Germany, Atlantik-Brücke organizes study trips. The program consists of visits to museums and memorials, as well as meetings with German politicians, journalists and business representatives. Visits to BMW World or a brewery may be included in the trips, visits of German schools are, of course, at the top of the agenda. The participants often react deeply impressed and report that they directly incorporate their experiences into their lessons.
